wow…what a great programme! I was so excited when we were given this programme to use. There was so much that could be done. I could have easily played on it all day. One thing i would advice when using this programme is to ensure that the children are foccussed on what they should be doing. I found my self going off track and creating random pieces of music that had nothing to do with our task. Also if children or people are working in groups it is very easy for 2 or 3 people to take charge and forget to ask other peoples opinions..sorry guys lol!! The programme is definitely worth investing in. I spoke to a group member who said it would be good to use but what about schools that do not have many computers or laptops? Well i did not know what to say then but thinking of it schools 5 years ago would have had this problem but by next year or sooner i am confident that every school will have a computer suite or more than enough laptops for a class, whether it is individual or in pairs. Although the programme is awesome our group encountered a huge dilema. As we completed our tune we went to save it. The worst possible thing happened….it would not save. No matter what we did. Eventually the laptop crashed and we lost all of our work. A good idea is to save as you go along!

Well this is definatley something that i will use in the classroom. Children are able to use thir geography skill and instead of just simple drawing a map they can make interactive and have images, video or voice clips of them actually in that place. I enjoyed making this and ICT made this possible.
Simple animation!
Another simple but yet effective use of animation! a good example of what good looks like that can be shown to the children.
ICT with e-confidence
Using this structure was a really good idea as it showed me how well i used ICT in school! i do feel that i use ICT effectively but feel that there is still room for improvement!

Well to be fair i was expecting alot more from this programme. It is very simple to use and would be or should only be used in KS!, but thatrs my opinion. I do not see how this would challenge KS2 children at all! I do feel that this programme could help with science with circuits. I guess may be i have contradicted myself as in KS1 they do simple circuits but in KS2 they go into more detail. So in terms of science it would benefit KS2 children. How did you guys find it? x
Podcasting
Well podcasting…something that i did not really know about until we had a house party and i was introduced to it by a good friend, thanks pal! Was really nice to have that lecture to help me understand how podcationg works and how easy it can be used and the benefits and many uses that it can have. I think it would be a great idea if a school had podcating on their website. Imagine that if every lesson a teacher recorder what she said throughout the day and at the end she added it to their classes podcast. If a child was ill, did not understand or just simply the parents wanted to find out what their child was learning they could go onto the schools website and listen…..awesome!
Making our own podcast through podium was interesting. It was fairly easy to use as has cross-curricular links, such as english, drama etc. Our podcast was going to be used for the schools radio station. Recording was hilarious. Somehow we managed to record the main part of our podcast in one go with out making a mistake. I was having a discussion with a house mate about podcasting and how you could use web 2.0 tachnology, such as YouTube to exchange and broadcast information. Then we thought whether this would be used in school or not? Would it be published to any one? Is it appropriate? How will you supervise online safety? Let me know what you think.
My groups 3D aniimation
Well i must say that when i first heard that we would be making an animation i thought well that will be easy…i was wrong. I did not realise that it would be as hard as it was! I realised that making up a story board was not as easy as it seems. Our original i dea was scrapped mainly, i think, because it would have been really difficult to make as it was really complex. Our new idea seemed fool proof apart from the fact that it took longer than expected. Making an animation does take a long time, we only made a minute long animation and it took for ever, i feel sorry for dreamworks. I completely forgot that 16 pictures was equal to only 1 second. Due to this our story board had to be amended. Keeping the camera at the same angle or position was another challenging issue for our group! Moving items and not remembering where they started or one minute they were in the shot then they were gone lol! All part of the fun i guess! In primary shools i would definitely give the children alot of time and support when creating their animation.

How do people feel about using animation in schools?
I had my real first tater of thinking about using animation today and it was not that great an experience. Maybe its because im not very creative or do not have much or an imagination when it comes to drawing or creating scenes. If it was not for my group today i do not think i would have done any work at all. I realised that there is a lot of work that is needed to be done to actually create our final animation. Will this work in all school? Will the teacher and pupils have the patients? Let me know your thought as im sure alot of you will be able to help me change my mind or explain how to be more creative!! Thanks x
